Sunday Morning we saddled up the trikes and headed for Groveland. Mitch, Dave and I had the trikes in the air at 7:30 am, and with a light head wind out of the south/south west we had calm air all the way to the Flying Gators field in Clermont. The only turbulence was on final approach and it was light. After a quick cold soda, we took off and headed 8 miles south to Quest. If you’re into Hang Gliders this is a great place to fly. Dave keeps a trike to two here and says they are a good group to fly with. After putting Dave's trainer in the hanger and refueling the Airborne trikes, Dave jumps in the backseat of the OutBack with me and we depart for our 66 miles return trip to Arthur Dunn. The return trip was faster as we have a 10-15 mph quartering tail wind and we average 66 mph ground speed east. We log a total 136 miles and just under 3 hours of flight time. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
Here is the actual flight path. The pink color is the trip West and green is the return flight back to Arthur Dunn.
Gator Field for a quick soda break!
Can you see the Orlando Sky Line? We are just North of the Class B for Orlando Executive and 1,800 agl.
Nice picture of Mitch and the new UCF Stadium in East Orlando.
